I have fallen out of love with Medium. It is a good place to write, and some kinds of content get discovered here. But I don’t like that my audience is “captured” here. I have a lot of followers on this platform, but I can’t reliably contact them, and I can’t take them with me to somewhere else. So in that sense I am happier with Patreon & Substack, because I get people’s email addresses and the relationship feels more peer-to-peer instead of mediated.
